It was cold today.
Cold enough that some of the pooches were wearing coats.
Angus doesn’t mind coats…
And sometimes he just needs to take his coat off…regardless of the weather.
Today was one of those days…
Kira and Benny tried to help him in his quest….
At least I think that is what they were doing…
Riley and Lily have very different views on snow…
Riley embraces it…
“I’m sure that a rabbit has been here recently…”
Lily not so much
“I think that I have enough ice on my tootsies for now thank you…!”
And she always errs on the side of caution.
“Careful Riley…that snowman is after you….!”
“If it does follow me Lily I’ll give it what for….!”
When I asked Riley why he didn’t take a cautious stance, like Lily, he replied
“Coz I’m an Intrepid Explorer don’t you know….”
“Well” said Lily…..”What’s good for the goose and all that…” as she let her schnozzle do some work.
Intrepid Explorers methinks
Reggie experienced his first snow today.
It was really interesting to see him come upon the realisation that everything outside was covered with cold, wet, sticky stuff that appeared to be falling from the sky.
“It’s called snow Reggie”
After some initial bravado, a bit of an explore (and his normal ablutions) the actual scale of this icy ‘intruder’ began to hit home. It was everywhere and he couldn’t get away from it.
“Are you sure that it’s safe?”
Molly, the seasoned professional, took it all in her stride.
Reggie looked to her for guidance on how he should react and what exactly he should do. He also wanted to know whether the white stuff was going to be around for a while.
“Do we get a lot of this Molly?”
Ever the understanding big-sister, Molly offered no consolation.
“Suck it up Reggie”.
” As they keep saying on the TV, Winter is Coming…!” (I didn’t realize that Molly was a GoT fan…).
“You’ll get used to it….it’s what us Canadians do…”
It’s the first time that I have seen Reggie look anything but enthusiastic.
But, with the wind whistling around my ears and the paths already becoming slippery I did understand exactly how he felt.
Winter is indeed coming….for now…
Keep warm Poochpeeps.
Levi was busy practising his wistful look today…staring into the distance…
A tad melancholy even…
All whilst rocking a sweet new ‘do.
He calls it his ” stepping in to Fall” look…
He’ll do anything to try and get included in a calendar!
Anyone watching Pete run in the rain today…
You too will believe that a Bassett Hound can fly…!
Having experienced the last couple of days…the heat…the sunshine…the wind…the humidity…the rain and the distant thunder Levi would like to ask one thing …..
It’s June isn’t it….what’s up with the weather…?
Pete intimated today that this snow stuff is his favorite cold weather stuff to run around in…..even though it can get everywhere if you’re not careful…!
“and believe me…I’m trying…”
Indeed he thinks it can’t be licked…no matter how much effort he puts in…!
